Lodsys patent case

Interesting article from Engadget on the Lodsys case against small iOS app developers. The patent issue is a tough one as patents are there to stop people ripping off your inventions but unfortunately the whole system’s been abused by trolls.

I just got the Famous Question badge (a question with 10,000 views) on Stackoverflow for my question about MySql replication. I like SO but don’t seem to spend much time on it for some reason.

What's school for?

I like Seth Godin’s ideas on what schools need to teach children in the future. They’re vital skills for getting on in the modern work environment. I wish I had been taught them when I was at school.

Tower

Tower looks interesting - it’s a Mac GUI for git. Looks like it will take the pain out of having to remember how to manage git from the command line.

Disappointed at the AV results

I’m disappointed but not surprised at the resounding no to AV vote at the referendum. That’s an opportunity to reform our electoral system gone, I suspect, for a generation.

Go & vote

Read this great article on why you should go and vote on how we elect our government: http://j.mp/iF9kpG.

Remember that 1,500 miles away Libyans are literally laying their lives down for right to say who will represent them.
